Whorl Whirl: Our Circular Nature 2025 Headworks, SFPUC SE Wastewater Treatment Plant, San Francisco , CA An artwork that also functions as a fence surrounding the SF Public Utilities Commission’s largest wastewater treatment plant, the artwork focuses on water, energy, transformation and recycling. A combination of perforated and “bumped” stainless steel panels and painted aluminum fins, the artwork creates a memorable experience for both cars and pedestrians at the edge of the Bayview neighborhood. Undergoing fabrication at the end of 2020, scheduled to be installed in 2023-24, depending on renovation and construction of other elements in the facility.
