Cary Arts Center (renovated from the Cary Old Elementary School building), Cary, NC The integrated and collaborative work by Jim Hirschfield, Sonya Ishii, & Norie Sato refers to the building’s original use as a school and its contemporary use as an art center. It includes flytower sculptures; a lobby with lit glass walls, glass doors and murals; a theater curtain; a plaza and artistic benches. The flytower’s glass and steel sculptures are inspired by the harlequin costume and is echoed in the theater’s curtain, connecting the two. Collaboration with Clearscapes.
