E+L+E+M+E+N+T+A+L 2010 Hach Chemistry Building, Iowa State University, Ames Iowa A multi-part work at the entrance, vestibule and lobby of a chemistry bldg. incorporates chemical patterns that transform from Penrose patterns occurring on microscopic surfaces, to molecular and other chemical structures and elements on backlit aluminum panels using LED lights forge an identity for the building. The glass doors separating 2 areas of the lobby, and a sculptural installation inside the lobby reimagines chemistry laboratory glass as sculpture complete the artwork.
