SYSTEM ARTIST FOR CENTRAL LINK LIGHT RAIL 1998-2008 Sound Transit, Seattle WA Sound Transit’s 3 modes of transportation each had a System Artist, or lead artist who collaborated on agency-wide art planning as well as planning specifically for our own mode of transportation. We worked on a multi-modal ideas and produced artwork for a multi-modal station in Tacoma WA. As the system artist for Link Light Rail, I selected a team of artists to help plan artwork for the 13 initial Link Stations. After the planning phase, I became an integral part of the architectural review team, urban planning group for one of the line segments and helped select and implement the art along the alignment. In addition, I produced artwork for some system-wide elements or between-station areas, sometimes in collaboration with Dan Corson, a member of the initial artist planning team. These included the artwork for the Operations/Maintenance Facility, the OCS poles and wayfinding project for the at-grade portion of the alignment and a light project to mark the one location where Link crosses over water. In addition, I designed the tactile wayfinding path and the marker.
