Columbia City Station, Link Light Rail, Seattle WA

Columbia City Station Plaza, Sound Transit Link Light Rail, Seattle, WA
Lions are guardians and other symbols of strength.  In this light rail plaza, lions of different “cultures” stand guard over the initial cultural conversation along this section of the light rail alignment.  8 lions of various were commissioned or collected from various sources and populate the 2 small plazas, including Thai, Chinese, Italian and a brick sculpted lion commissioned from another Seattle artist, Mara Smith.
