SR520 MONTLAKE LID 2016
Sato's role as "Community Aesthetic Advisor" for this project was to help create artistic moments and details for this new lid over a freeway. The lid-park expands open space for the commmunity, an established neighborhood that is traversed by this freeway/bridge that traverses Lake Washington and connects Eastside suburbs to Seattle. The park will connect 2 areas of the neighborhood and recognize its indigenous roots, highway aesthetic and natural interventions.
